Forging Classes

I offer hands-on blacksmithing classes for 1-3 people. A given class will last 1-3 hours and cover the basics of blacksmithing. Afterwards, you will walk away with a piece of handcrafted work that you can be proud of.

Forged leaf class:

$40.00 per person, material costs included in price.

In this class, you will learn the basics of forging with techniques such as hot cutting, tapering the metal, drawing out the material, bending, and basic finishing.

Steak Flipper Class:

$50.00 per person, material costs included in price.

In this class, you will learn how to forge scrolls, bend material, and taper metal. After finishing the class, you will walk away with a functioning grill tool perfect for barbecuing.

Railroad Spike Knife class:

$80 for one person
$120 for two people
$150 for three people.

In this class, you will learn the basics of knifemaking such as drawing out material, beveling the blade, and heat treating. Afterwards, you will learn the basics of grinding a knife before I complete the technical grinding operations. Then you will hand sand the blades to your preferred finish before being provided a handmade leather sheath to take your blade home in.

Knife Sharpening and Repair

Besides forging original knives, I also service existing knives. If you have a chipped or dull knife, I will repair and sharpen it to a razor-sharp edge.

$6.00 per inch for sharpening

The price for Repair will be evaluated based on the damage to the knife.
